What to Do in the Event of a Claim

Property

When you have a claim to your property, please do the following:

  • Protect your property from further damage
  • Make temporary repairs
  • Document by taking pictures, notes, and inventory
  • Contact HPB Insurance or your Insurance Carrier

Auto

When you have an accident, please do the following:
  • Notify the Authorities
  • Contact HPB Insurance or your Insurance Carrier
  • Take notes & write down names and contact information of Witnesses
  • Don't move the vehicles from scene until Authorities arrive. If you have to move, and you have a camera availabe (cell phone), take pictures of the vehicles placement before they are moved from the scene. This can protect you if "fault" is questionable.

Workers Compensation

When an employee is injured, please do the following:
  • Contact EMS if needed
  • Take notes of what happened
  • Prepare a North Carolina Form 19 Notice of Claim
  • Direct employee to your designated treatment facility

Liability

When you have a liability claim at your home or business, please do the following:

  • Contact EMS if needed
  • Take notes of what happened.  Any Witnesses?
  • Contact HPB Insurance or your Insurance Carrier
